mdesc #help pulls up:
This program lets you easily change your description and other attributes.
mdesc #add - Add current description as a new mdesc
mdesc #help - this text
mdesc #list - list all the mdescs you have and their commands
mdesc #remove - Delete one of your mdescs
mdesc - change to a mdesc (see mdesc #list for commands)
qmdesc - change to a mdesc quietly
mdesc #connect - Set a mdesc to go to when awake
mdesc #disconnect - Set a mdesc to go to when asleep
mdesc #allow - allow the named player to edit your mdescs
mdesc #assist [#add|#list|#remove|]
- edit another player's mdescs.
mdesc #clear - stop allowing your mdescs being edited
To use this program, edit your current attributes (by hand or
with 'Editplayer') to get exactly the form you want. Type 'mdesc #add'
and your current description information and properties
will be copied as a new mdesc. You will be expected to answer
a few questions. First, the 'keyword' associated with this
mdesc. This should be one word like '2leg' or 'dancing' or somesuch.
Next the name of the description. Only you will see this in 'mdesc #list'.
Finally, the text it should print when you change to that new mdesc.
To add another description, simply edit your current description again
and 'mdesc #add' again. Lather, rinse, repeat. :)
NOTE: Be aware that when you change to a desc, your description
will be overwritten. If you have multiple descriptions you want
to make mdescs for, be sure to 'mdesc #add' them all *before*
trying to test one of the new mdescs.
... make a suggestion, a wardrobe function of some kind would be nice. I don't know how the coding for those things work, but on the TInyMUSH I played on, you could build a list of desc's for your char and then just pick what items were on your character desc-wise.
I think the commands were (memory is rusty, bear with me)
+desc/create Name=Desc (Creates a new desc to replace the current one)
+wlist (Created a list of all of your personal Desc's)
+wwear Name Name Name (Compiles a desc based on a list of wardrobe desc's)
+wstore Name=Desc (Created a new desc for a wearable item and stored it for later use via +wwear)
+wdel Name (deleted a desc from the wardrobe)
So, let's say that Kat had a list of desc's:
+wlist
WARDROBE
Hairbraided
Hairloose
Face
Shirt1
Shirt2
Jeans
BlackSkirt
Blouse
Then to use some of those in a desc, I would just type:
+wwear Hairbraided face shirt1 jeans
And when everyone looked at Kat they would see a paragraph with those desc's put together as one desc, allowing for easy mix and match outfits and different hairstyles without a giant headache.
Odd idea popped up with the mentioning of the hardly guarded crates. That could be a very interesting way to provide story hooks.
Create an object where, if someone does a look on it, it not only brings up a possible scene plot -- but if it has NPC's involved in it, possibly an NPC will shout back to the room for others who might be in the room to see.
For example, the crates.
Someone looks at the food crates. What the person sees is "These food crates are sitting around with barely any guards. Near it are some starving kids trying to sneak food from it, but a guard spots them." followed by: "A nearby Alliance guard shouts towards some street children, "STOP RIGHT THERE!" then turns to "YOU! Are you with them!? Come with me!"
This may be cart-before-the-horse, since I'm not even approved yet, but I'm definitely in favour of having the option to submit client logs. I'm fine turning on cameras, but come from a gaming tradition of taking and posting logs client-side, so added familiarity makes me happy. :)
We know that not everyone is comfortable with turning on a camera and recording their RP in game. So, we're considering the concept of allowing logs to be submitted into the game, from say your client logs, etc.

Just a crazy thought. :)
